Drew Schoessler
I grew up in Oxford, Pennsylvania, playing baseball, soccer, and basketball—but baseball was always my true passion. I competed as a pitcher through high school and into college until multiple injuries and surgeries ultimately ended my collegiate pitching career. Despite that setback, my love for the game never faded. I’m a lifelong Phillies fan, and I stay active through lifting, running, and playing sports. Soccer has also been a longtime passion, and I never miss a Manchester City match.
After transferring to Penn State, I gained hands-on experience as an Athletic Training Intern with Penn State Baseball and later as a Performance Enhancement Intern, where I trained athletes in baseball and men’s and women’s tennis. During that time, I had the opportunity to work with several MLB Draft Picks and witnessed firsthand how individualized, evidence-based programming can elevate athletic performance. After earning my Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, I joined Cressey Sports Performance, where I coached athletes from youth to professional levels, including multiple collegiate players and future MLB draft selections.
Over the years, I’ve developed a comprehensive skill set specializing in the training of overhead athletes, with a focus on biomechanics, movement efficiency, and sport-specific performance. My programs are designed to improve strength, stability, mobility, and power while reducing stress on vulnerable joints. Outside of coaching, I enjoy writing blogs and articles on strength and conditioning, using that platform to share insights that help athletes and coaches improve their approach to training and performance.
As a Performance Coach at Philadelphia Area Sports Training (PHAST), my coaching philosophy is built around four key pillars: individuality, resilience, consistency, and long-term development. I believe every athlete’s journey is unique, and effective training goes beyond sets and reps—it’s about building confidence, mental toughness, and sustainable movement patterns that lead to lasting success.
Whether I’m working with youth or professional athletes, my goal is to provide a personalized, long-term approach that challenges them to become the best version of themselves. Training isn’t just about getting stronger—it’s about developing character, perseverance, and a mindset that carries far beyond the weight room or playing field.
